Tutorial - Taking shots with Master
Previous  Top  Next

This basic tutorial lists the steps required to get you taking shots with Master and have them transfered back to your PC

1) Ensure your camera is set to PTP mode (please refer to your camera's manual for how to do this)

2) Plug your camera into your PC via the USB cable

3) Switch on your camera and set it to M mode (manual mode)

4) Start Master

5) If Master automatically detected your camera you will see a small camera icon at the bottom left of Master's window. If so jump to step 7

6) Open the options and click "Automatically detect and connect to camera"

7) Open the options and click on the Browse button to select where you would like your images saved

8) Click OK on the options window to close it

9) Look at the "Exposure Status" value - this reports how the image is exposed. If it is negative click on the Aperture setting and select a lower value, if positive select a higher value.

10) When the Exposure Status is close to zero your shot is exposed correctly - note that you may need to adjust other camera settings to achieve this.

11) Click the "Shoot" button to fire the camera's shutter.

12) Shortly after Master will report (in the info bar at the bottom of the window) that the image was saved to the PC
