pulse

A Pulse is a time based controller for one aspect of the camera, ie ISO or Shutter.

You must create a seperate Pulse for each item you wish to control. To do this we use the "Create Pulse" tab near the top left of the Time Lapse window. Clicking on it will display the Pulse Template (see picture above).

The Create Template consists of a number of entry boxes to allow you to create Pulses. Below is a desciption of each element of the template :-

Type: This selects what aspect of the camera you wish to control. Options are :- Shoot, Aperture, Shutter, ISO.

PulseType

Start (s): This is the start time of the pulse in seconds from when the Time Lapse starts. This allows you to stagger Pulses should you wish to take a number of shots at one setting and then alter it later.

Interval (s): This is the time in seconds between each firing of the Pulse. ie, if you wanted to take one shot every 10 seconds you would set this value to 10.

Duration (s): This is how long the Pulse will run for. ie. if you want to take photos for one minute you would type in 60.

Start Value: This is the starting value for the current setting. ie, if you wanted to change the ISO from 200 up to 800 you would set this value to 200

End Value: This is the final value you want the setting to achieve. In the above example you would set this value to 800.

When you have finished entering your Pulse details click the Create button at the bottom of the template

You can create as many Pulses as you like and they are listed horizontally next to the Pulse Template tab (see below)

Pulses will fire in the order they are listed, left to right. You can adjust the order of your Pulses by clicking on the Move Left / Move Right buttons shown at the bottom of each Pulse's tab. (see below)
